Southern Beltline squeezed this weekend

Southern Beltline Part of westbound Interstate 40 will be reduced from five to two lanes all weekend, from 9 p.m. tonight (Friday) to 6 a.m. Monday, on Raleigh’s southern Beltline between Exit 301 (I-440/I-40 split) and Exit 299 (Person Street / Hammond Road). Significant backups are possible.

[More:]

The state Department of Transportation is doing pavement repair work that will close three lanes. Eastbound travel is not affected. Watch for detour signs.
Information about this repair project is online at www.ncdot.org/projects/I40rehabilitation/. I-40 travelers can check traffic conditions by dialing 511 or visiting DOT’s traffic information site: www.ncdot.org/traffictravel/.
