You make the call: In or out?

Judge for yourself at the 3:11 mark of these ESPN highlights. Was Virginia Tech receiver Eddie Royal inbounds or out on this second-quarter touchdown pass?

The field judge, Dale Shaw Jr., called it a touchdown on the field, after a significant delay, which was then somehow confirmed by replay.

It took Matt Ryan's best 2 minutes and 11 seconds and an onside kick to make up for that controversial decision.

The ACC should consider itself lucky that BC came back to win that game. The last thing the conference needed was its biggest game of the season — and its best shot at a national title since expansion — to be decided by the officials.

Out! He was juggling the ball at first and was out when he got control.

I am a Hokie fan, but I believe it was out too. If we had won this game, we would forever be dealing with accusations that we didn't really deserve the win due to that controversial touchdown call.

On another note, as difficult as it was to lose the way we lost, I have to give Matt Ryan credit for his game-winning performance in the last 2 minutes of the game. I think the rain was a big problem for him during the first half, but when it stopped raining he was back to Heisman Trophy candidate again. I did not see the Heisman potential in him during the first half at all.

The Hokies played tough and well, but we just didn't have what it took to stop BC at the end, so congrats to BC from a very dedicated Hokie fan!

He was clearly out. The only thing more inexplicable than the replay official confirming that call is Sidney Lowe and his ugly red coat as the "picture" of ACC basketball to the left of this clumn. The last time I checked Roy and the Heels are defending ACC champs and pre-season favorites to repeat.

Yeah, he was out when he had possession.

And hey Al, UNC is on the way down, NC ST is on the way up, hence the Sid pic. But thanks for coming out anyway

Dubya, I'll give you that MooU is on the way up...when you've hit rock bottom there is no where to go but up. UNC on the way down? Next you'll try and tell me that state college football is on the verge of a BCS bid.

I believe I already stated this in another blog here but Flowers was also out of bounds when he caught the so called interception on the sidelines.

just be glad BC won.

The ACC really needs to hold open auditions for refs in the spring. it has really gotten bad.
