Did N.C. State's players have too much of a good thing this week?
The Pack celebrated Thanksgiving as a team with a large, catered meal at Carter-Finley Stadium's Vaughn Towers after practice Wednesday night. NCSU coach Tom O'Brien then permitted those players who wanted to go home and be with their families on Thanksgiving Day to leave town on Thursday.
Maybe it was too much turkey or too much free time. Maybe it was just too much Maryland, but the Pack was blasted 37-0 today by the Terps in the last game of the season.
"We seemed better at practice this week and in a better mindset," O'Brien said. "I don't know if it was the Thanksgiving break that threw us out of whack because I allowed them to go home.
"I'm big on routine, so maybe we'll need to re-evaluate that."
