DURHAM — DeMarcus Nelson and Gerald Henderson scored 15 apiece to lead Duke to a 71-58 victory over Georgia Tech.
Kyle Singler had 13 points, including 11 scored in the first half.
Duke held a six-point halftime lead but it wasn't the scintillating offense. Duke shot 1-for-11 from 3-point range before halftime.
For the Devils, it was little things like eight second-chance points and committing just four turnovers and making eight of their nine free throws while keeping Georgia Tech off the foul line that kept them out front in the first half of the ACC game.
Henderson also slammed home the ball, bum wrist and all, on back-to-back possessions that got the crowd properly excited and energized.
Georgia Tech brought an inside-outside attack with Matt Causey, brother of former Duke walk-on Mark Causey, scoring eight from the perimeter and Gani Lawal adding eight while working inside.
