Dorrell next on Duke's list?

Former UCLA coach Karl Dorrell is registered in a Triangle hotel and is expected to talk with Duke about its vacant football coaching position either today or Tuesday.

Dorrell, who went 35-27 in five seasons at UCLA, was fired after a 6-6 season. The Bruins began the season ranked No. 14 but stumbled with two wins in their final seven games.

Dorrell, 43, led the Bruins to a bowl game in each of his five seasons. UCLA was the first head coaching job for the former Denver Broncos assistant.
